Kirsten is a digital rights activist. In September 2019, she started working as Policy Advisor in the European Parliament - for Alexandra Geese, a new MEP in the Greens/EFA group.

Before this, she was the Managing Director of the NGO European Digital Rights (EDRi), an association of groups from across Europe that defend human rights in the digital environment. After her European studies in the UK, France and Germany, Kirsten started blogging about digital rights issues and advocating for civil rights in the digital environment. A while ago when she still had spare time, she contributed to Netzpolitik.org, to national NGOs Digitale Gesellschaft e. V. and NURPA.
